What is Spanish Academies?

Spanish Academies is a supplemental education program for both children and adults that is designed to introduce and advance a student’s knowledge and appreciation of the Spanish language and culture. Our franchises provide onsite instruction at day-cares, pre-schools and elementary schools and also offer lessons in a franchise run classroom. Spanish Academies franchises are individually owned and operated.

Is there a franchise opportunity in my area?

Spanish Academies has franchise opportunities in many states across the United States but not all. Spanish Academies will not franchise in any state until it has complied with all applicable legal requirements. Click here to see a list of locations where franchise opportunities may be available.

Am I qualified to become a Spanish Academies franchise owner?

If you have a desire to help children and adults learn the Spanish language and culture, you may qualify. Spanish Academies does not require a college degree or any past teaching experience. If you have a teaching background or some business experience, that is a plus. Spanish Academies looks for candidates who are interested in teaching and running their own business.

Must I have a background in teaching?

Spanish Academies does not require that its franchisees have a background in teaching. Many of our instructors are professionals who are not teachers and yet have a desire and ability to teach the Spanish language.

Must I speak Spanish?

Spanish Academies realizes that there are entrepreneurs who may want to bring a Spanish Academies program to their communities yet who do not speak Spanish. Spanish Academies does not require that the franchisee speak Spanish. Spanish Academies does require that the franchisee have a designated person committed to manage the daily operations of the program who speaks and writes fluent Spanish. This designate must be indicated early in the application process and be available to interview with Spanish Academies.

What is the approval process?

Use this web site to determine whether a franchise opportunity is available in your area. If so, you may contact us to receive a free brochure and franchise application. You will have to supply personal and financial information, as well as authorize Spanish Academies to receive a credit report, that will be kept confidential. Spanish Academies will let you know whether it desires to talk more about the franchise opportunity. Prior to any offer being made, Spanish Academies will give you information about itself so that you can make an informed decision whether to buy a franchise. New franchisees have to complete a training program in Cincinnati, Ohio to the satisfaction of Spanish Academies.

What kind of training will I need?

Before you open your doors for business, Spanish Academies will train you in its teaching methods and business management procedures. You will learn how to hire and train teachers, to keep your accounts and to market your business. Spanish Academies will also have continuing education programs that you can attend.

How much money and space do I need to open a Spanish Academy franchise?

The initial cost to open a Spanish Academies franchise depends on whether you franchise the children’s program (Spanish Academy) and/or the adult program (Spanish School) and where you open your classroom. The initial investment to open a franchise for both programs will fall in the area of $56,000. If you desire to open one or the other of the programs, the initial investment would be in the $30,000 range. Spanish Academies does not require a franchisee to have or maintain any level of liquid assets or net worth. A classroom space must be owned or rented by the franchisee and it is recommended that the space have no less than 600 square feet.

How will I work with Spanish Academies and how will they support my franchise?

As a franchisee, you will own and operate your own franchise location. Spanish Academies has an operations manual that sets forth the policies and procedures of the franchise system. After opening your franchise, you will receive support from the corporate office to manage your business. If you have questions about such things as personnel, advertising or money management, you can call the corporate office to help answer your questions.
